Women should no longer cook for their husbands - Lola Rae


Meet Rachel Akosua Funmilola Garton ,25, popularly known as Lola Rae, a Nigerian-born British-Ghanaian recording artist and dancer who shot to limelight upon the release of her debut single "Watch My Ting Go, in 2012 and was a nominee in the "Most Promising Female Act to Watch" category at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

The  gorgeous music star, says she has amazing culinary skills and that she has a mother that cooked for her father before his untimely passing last year. She went further to say that women should no longer cook for their husbands.

In her words: “Yes, I was brought up in a home where my mum cooked for my dad every single day, but she was a housewife.  My thought is if you have the time, it is okay to cook for your husband, but in a situation where you are a career woman and don’t have the time to cook, there are ways you can go about it. You can hire someone to do the cooking for you or cook in bulk on weekends and store in the freezer.”

Reminded that Pastor Enoch Adeboye of Redeemed Christian Church of God, admonished men not to marry ladies that can’t cook, Lola who maintained she is a born again Christian had this to say:

 “I think it is his opinion and he is entitled to his opinion and if that’s what he feels like the Lord is telling him, then that’s his own message but if there are other people who feel they don’t want their wives to do that and want their wives to support them and that’s what they feel it is their story, then that should happen. I feel that’s his opinion.”

As an addendum, the British-Ghanaian singer  made it clear that she would cook if she had the time.

“Definitely, if I have the time, I will cook because I love to do so.  If God allows me and gives me the time do that, I will cook every day.”

PDP, Ize-Iyamu jealous of my credentials – Obaseki

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, dismissed allegation by the Peoples Democratic Party that he received millions of naira as salaries as the head of the state’s economy and strategy team. The PDP state Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, had during the party’s rally in Orhionmwon on Monday accused Obaseki of allegedly deceiving the citizens with claims that he (Obaseki) worked without any remuneration under the state government. Orbih had also displayed documents, which he claimed were vouchers for payments allegedly made to the APC candidate. But Obaseki, in a statement by the Director-General (Media and Publicity) of his campaign organisation, Abass Braimah, on Wednesday described the allegations as “tissues of lies”, adding that both the PDP and its candidate were “jealous” of his credentials and selfless service to the state. Lagos reiterates zero tolerance for criminal activities

The Lagos State Government has reassured residents, especially those in the troubled communities of its ability to combat crimes in all parts of the state. The state government said it still maintained its zero tolerance for criminal acts, while urging residents to remain calm as the Rapid Response Squad of the police in the state was on top of the current security challenges being faced by the locals. They urged residents to always volunteer vital information to security agencies to enable them to promptly discharge their responsibilities. “Information gathering is an integral part of security in the environment,” the state government said. Malia Obama Proves She's Just Like Everyone else While Partying at Lollapalooza

Barack and Michelle Obama were tearing it up with their epic speeches at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia earlier this week, and now, their oldest daughter Malia Obama is turning up with her pals at Lollapalooza in her hometown of Chicago. The 18-year-old high school graduate proved that just because she lives in the White House and has the most famous parents in the world, doesn't mean she can't go out and have some fun—even if her fun also includes secret service (who were adorably dressed in some casual khakis and plaid shirts, LOL). A few fellow Lollapalooza partygoers who also happened to be at the Cashmere Catset caught a few photos and even a brief video (read: extremely shaky) video of Malia letting loose and dancing with her gal-pals.
