Gunner's bid for Jonny Evans and Injury-packed list

West Brom will turn down Arsenal's bid for centre-back and  former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans, according to The Sun.

The Gunners are reportedly poised to make a £16million market move for the experienced centre-back as they look for short-term options at the back.

Evans became a target because of the significant amount of injuries that Arsenal have suffered. But the Baggies are keen to hang onto the 28-year-old defender and will turn down the initial advance from Arsene Wenger's side.

West Brom only paid £6million for Evans' services last summer.

Meanwhile, Alex Iwobi is out for up to a month in another injury setback for Arsenal.
Attacking midfielder Iwobi had suffered a hip injury in the Gunners breaking 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

As if loosing is the game is not sad enough, Arsenal has also lost Iwobi and Aaron Ramsey who have both joined Arsenal's growing injury list.

Iwobi is expected to miss Arsenal's next two games, at Leicester and Watford before the two week international break and be fit to return for the home clash against Southampton on September 10.

Ramsey is also due for the sidelines for the same game as he too is facing a month out with the hamstring injury picked up against Liverpool.
