Man Arraigned Over Theft Of Church Tithes


Elochukwu Nnoruga, 23, was arraigned before Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on a one-count-charge bordering on theft. The suspect allegedly stole tithe amounting to N214,000 from the offering box in the church.

Ben Ekundayo the prosecutor,  told  the honourable  court that the accused committed the offence on Aug. 14 at about 2 p.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Idumaigbo, Lagos.

He stated that the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Nnoruga pleaded guilty to the charge.

 Mr Ade Adefulire,who is the Magistrate, has adjourned the matter till Aug. 23 for facts and proper sentencing.

Parents call for the swapping of Chibok girls for Boko Haram detainees

This was as a follow up to the video of the girls as was released by the sect on Sunday. Boko Haram captured more than 200 of the 276 final-year girls it abducted from Government Secondary School, Chibok, in Borno State, in April 2014. Some of them escaped, but 215 girls remain missing.
