[Rio 2016] Nigeria defeat Honduras to win bronze

Nigeria’s U-23 team, on Saturday defeated Honduras 3-2 to win the country’s first medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil, finishing in the third-place of the men’s football competition.

Sadiq Umar opened the scoring in the first half, sliding home after great work from captain Mikel John Obi. Also Aminu Umar, made it 2-0 four minutes after the restart, before Sadiq finished calmly again to extend the Dream Team VI’s lead.

Honduras scored twice in the latter stages of the match, but it was not enough, as Samson Siasia’s men took the show by winning the match.
