Governor Fayose's Lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) To Loose N75 Million To The EFCC

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Tuesday ordered Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), the lawyer to Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose to temporarily forfeit the N75m in his Guaranty Trust Bank account to the EFCC.

Recall, that the outspoken Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has in the recent past had his accounts frozen by the Anti-graft agency on charges bordering on alleged money laundering.

Justice Abdulaziz Anka  on Tuesday ruled that Fayose's lawyer, Ozekhome would forfeit the N75m discovered in his account for 120 days pending investigations by the commission.

According to an ex parte application made by the EFCC, there are claims that the N75m deposited into Ozekhome’s account on 15, 2016, was suspected to be proceeds of crime. This formed the basis for the ruling as given by the judge who granted the order.

Anka concluded that any party, who was not satisfied with his order, had the right of appeal.
