UPDATED] Akeredolu Wins Ondo APC Governorship Primary Elections


Rotimi Akeredolu, the former President of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) has won the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state.

The primary, which was held at International Event Centre, Dome was contested by 20 aspirants after four others aspirants withdrawn from the race and backed Mr. Segun Abraham.

The exercise which was keenly contested Akeredolu, 669, while Abraham scored 635.

Akeredolu who lost to incumbent governor Olusegun Mimiko in the 2012 governorship poll will be contesting for governor for the second time.

The candidate of the ruling PDP and ex-Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Eyitayo Jegede, is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. The development spells out a stiff contest as two Senior Advocates of Nigeria will go head to head in the November 10 election.
