Women Now Gets One Day Holiday Because Of Menstruation


A new labour law has been enacted in Zambia that allows female workers to take a day off duty per month known as Mother's Day during their menstruation period, even though it applies to all women, whether or not they have children.

The legal definition is not precise - women can take the day when they want and do not have to provide any medical justification, leading some to question the provision.

Women in Zambia do not need to make prior arrangements to be absent from work, but can simply call in on the day to say they are taking Mother's Day. An employer who denies female employees this entitlement can be prosecuted.

He stated the he is around despite his reported ouster as leader of the Nigeria-based jihadist group by the Islamic State (IS). People should know we are still around. We will never cause any discord among the people, we will live by the Koran,” Shekau said in a 10-minute audio message. “This is our stand and we remain in our capacity as Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad,” he said using the Islamic name for the hardline jihadist group. Another day, another beauty pageant scandal. Miss Universe Honduras Sirey Morán was stripped of her crown and title, and she will not be able to participate in this year's Miss Universe pageant. The announcement came later this week as the organization claims that she had not complied with her contract, according to LatinTimes . After that, things got a little crazy. Morán didn't stay quiet and quickly fired back at Carlos Rivera, the director of Carimaxx, which is the organization that has the rights to the pageant in Honduras. Morán sent a statement to El Heraldo about an incident with Rivera that occurred on June 30 at his New York residence.
