Michel Temer To Mount The Saddle As Brazil’s President

According to the Brazillian senate, Michel Temer will be sworn in as president of Brazil at 1900 GMT Wednesday after Dilma Rousseff was impeached.
Senate president Renan Calheiros made this known at the senate chamber, where he announced that acting president Temer, 75, would be sworn in as full head of state after members convicted Rousseff of breaking state accounting laws at an impeachment trial.
Rousseff, 68, was convicted by 61 of the 81 senators of illegally manipulating the national budget. The vote, passing the needed two-thirds majority, meant she was immediately ousted from office.

It was indeed a dicey moment as cheers and cries of disappointment erupted in the blue-carpeted, circular Senate chamber as the verdict flashed up on the electronic voting screen.
