Football Legend Pele Set To Visit Nigeria 22nd September


75-year-old Brazil football legend, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as Pele, will be in Nigeria on a two-day visit on September 22.

The superstar was initially scheduled to arrive in August, but the trip was postponed on health grounds. Pele was named among those to light the Olympic cauldron at the opening ceremony of this year’s Games, but withdrew only few hours before the event at the Maracana.

This historic visit, will be Pele’s second time in the country, after he first came 50 years ago. The two days of his visit will focus on the development of football and the Nigerian youths. There will be a celebrity exhibition match and exclusive dinner with selected guests.
