Samson Siasia Resigns As Nigeria’s U-23 Football Team Coach


Samson Siasia has resigned as the coach of Nigeria’s U-23 football team as as a result of what he describes as “a disrespectful system”.

Siasia, dictincly the most decorated African coach at the Rio-Olympics, having also won a silver medal in Beijing in 2008, allege nonpayment of his allownces for the past five months by the Nigeria Football Federation.

He confirmed that he had quit Nigeria football after "a turbulent and incredible campaign in Rio.

Teenager defiles three-year-old girl

Muyideen Lawal, a 17-year-old secondary school student,who allegedly defiled a three-year-old girl, was on Wednesday brought before a Surulere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. The accused, who resides at No.1, Temitope St., Ajangbadi on Lagos-Badagry Expressway, is standing trial on a charge of defilement. The prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osayande told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 21 at 8.00 p.m. at his uncle’s house. “Muyideen lured the little girl from the mother’s shop which is an extension of his uncle’s house. “The little girl asked for N10 from the accused, who lives with his uncle. Instead of giving her the money, he lured her into the house with a promise to give her food. “In the process, he dragged her into his room and defiled her,’’ Osayande said. New signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an acrobatic scissor kick within four minutes of pulling on a Manchester United shirt for the first time in a 5-2 friendly rout of Galatasaray on Saturday. The superstar forward, who moved from Paris Saint Germain in the summer, was finally unleashed by new manager Jose Mourinho in Gothenburg in his native Sweden.
