I Am 48 Years Not 50; Linda Ikeji Take Note - Fathia Balogun

Nollywood actress, Fathia Balogun has revealed that she recently wrote a letter to Celebrity blogger, Linda Ikeji, in other to correct her for the erroneous blog post she made on her birthday.

In the said latter, the actress pointed out that she’s not 50 years old as published on Linda Ikeji's blog. Most news blogs also reported that Fathia Williams was 50 years old on the 5th of February 2017 but in a private chat with a journalist, Fathia disclosed that she’s not yet up to 50.

The Lagos born actress who said that she woke up on her birthday last week to see that most popular blogs erroneously wrote that she turned 50 lamented of how blogs like Pulse.ng and Bellanaija.com also published the post which first appeared on LIB.

Be that as it may, in a bid to correct the report, Fathia had to write to Linda to inform her that she is not 50 years old yet. She said it was her ex-husband, Nollywood actor, Saheed Balogun who turned 50 on that day. The erstwhile couples are birth date mates. Saheed is 50 years old while Fathia is still 48.

Fathia Balogun is an award-winning Nigerian Nollywood actress, film-maker and producer born February 5, 1969.

Early life


She was born in Ikeja on February 1969. She hails Okpara, Ethiope East local government area of Delta State. She attended Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive High School in Lagos state, where she obtained the West African School Certificate before she proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic where she received a diploma certificate.

Career

She has starred, produced and directed several Nigerian films over the years. In 2008, she won the Africa movie Academy Award for the Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie Iranse Aje won the best indigenous film of the year. On April 2014, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award, having emerged as best actress of the year along with Odunlade Adekola who emerged as best actor of the year. Faithia Balogun also won the Best Indigenous Language: Yoruba award for the work done in the film Iya Alalake at the 2015 Africa-Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards AMVCA

Personal life

She was formerly married to the veteran nollywood actor, Saheed Balogun.
