Here Are 7 Cool Ways To Take-Off This New Week

Weekends are good, no doubt. Yeah! Everybody likes weekends. The 'Thank God Is Friday' (TGIF) remarks are widely used at the brink of weekends, that happens to be on Fridays. For some the new week starts on Sundays, while to others it commences on Mondays. Which ever day you may choose, one thing remains paramount - Starting the fresh week energetically. Full of life and Vigor!
Energy according to physical science is the ability to do work. Each new week comes with its loads and tons or work to be done and challenging tasks to be surmounted. Weekdays are busy days and can be exhausting. To bounce back strong each new week, most of what you need is REST. Yeah...You need plenty of it.
SO...Get Enough Rest
Many people claim they need a weekend to recover from the work week. However, when they get there, they end up getting less sleep than during the week. Have the discipline to get the rest you need. If your tank is empty when you walk in the door Monday, it’s going to be a rough week.
'Many of us are so busy we see rest as a weakness - a waste of precious time,' 'but rest is, in fact, a biological need. All the science shows we need rest to live, just like we need food.'
However, 'rest' does not mean simply plonking yourself on the sofa in front of the TV. Studies has categorized rest into - PASSIVE & ACTIVE. Some medical personnel has classified watching television as 'Passive' rest. Although this does allow for a degree of cellular renewal, the brain will still be buzzing (indeed, studies show that in some of the brain's 'rest' states, more energy is used up than when the brain is performing set tasks).
In the actual sense what we need is 'Active' rest - this can make you more alert and effective, reduce stress levels and give you a better chance of a healthier and longer life. With this type of rest, you will be definitely fired-up and all set for the new week ahead.
1. Have A Road Map
Starting your week without reviewing your calendar is like driving your car with a blindfold, you are going to hit something. Know where you are going before the week starts. Review your calendar in advance.
2. Know What You Have to Do
Your todo list is just as important. If you are unaware of what you have to do and when it is due, you are setting yourself up for a fall. Look at your list before you leave the house. You just might remind yourself of something you need to be ready for.
3. A Good Finish, Allows a Good Start
Ever come back to a project that you left in disarray? It’s a mess. Trying to figure out where you were and where everything goes. Make sure you finish the previous week right. Clean up before you leave the office and tie up loose ends. That way, you won’t walk into a mess upon your return.
4. Workout
Want to start you week full of energy? Start it with a workout. Some fear that this will wear them out before they get to work. Quite the contrary. It will pump you up. And fill you with confidence.
5. Start Early
It’s true, the early bird gets the worm. Opportunity favors the early. If you have to pick one day a week to get an early start, Monday would be the day. Arriving at the office before the rush will let you get a head start.
6. Motivate Yourself
Need some inspiration to start your week? Read something motivational. I keep several of my motivational books, quotes, and even video clips nearby, in case I need that extra push to go out and attack the world.
Was it not...Zig Ziglar who said ''People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily'' ?
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. – Mark Twain
So, find a way to motivate yourself daily. Always stay afloat with Visions and dreams.
7. Positive Attitude
Bring your best attitude to the new week. Being positive can overcome many of the week’s obstacles. Your attitude defines your reality more than you think.
Sometimes we just need to read something in black and white to get out of our weekend slump and get mentally pumped up for the week ahead…
So sit back and relax over your cup of coffee (or tea, or glass of veggie juice, etc.), and find one or two quotes that grab you. Ones that are going to give you that extra boost of inspiration, motivation, creativity, determination or confidence you need to go swinging into the day ahead. Enjoy!
Ehee! Above all...Tell yourself you’re going to have a good day. Sure, you might have what feels like a million and one tasks ahead of you to face at work or in your personal life that week, but if you have a positive attitude, you just can’t go wrong. Life is 10% of what happens to us and 90% of how we react to it. Choose to react positively, even (and especially) when it’s hard.
The difference between who you are today and who you want to be, is what you do. So get 'enough' rest tonight and see how good you'll feel as you smile and bounce to work on Monday.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK AHEAD!
