Nigeria @ 56: Deadly Fire Outbreak As Explosion Rocks Warri's Niger Cat (Photos)


As Nigeria celebrates its 56th independence anniversary today being 1st october 2016, reports has it that an explosion has rocked Niger Cat, Warri last night leading to a very pronounced fire outbreak happening now.
Unconfirmed sources disclosed that, it is another attack from the Niger Delta militants. The fire is fast spreading as residents are forced to scamper away for safety. The real cause of the explosion is yet to be identified.

An eyewitness at the scene reveals: “Happening right now in niger cat, ekpan , Warri. it started last night nd been burning until this morning. This location holds the tankers that receives petrol from the warri refinery. and the fire is fast spreading. some residents have been force to move for safety reasons.

Man kills himself, two others in Imo

The Imo State Police Command, in eastern Nigeria, has confirmed the death of three persons at Akokwa community in Ideato Local Government Area on Friday. DSP Andrew Enwerem, the Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the incident said others sustained injuries. He explained that an unidentified man, said to be from the northern part of Nigeria, had run amok and killed a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself. He said some aggrieved youths immediately went for reprisal attacks, leading to some other persons sustaining various degrees of injuries. Enwerem said the Commissioner of Police, on receiving reports of the the incident, deployed anti-riot policemen who stopped the incident from spreading further. “Report to police showed that a yet to be identified northerner ran amok at Akokwa community and used weapons to attack and kill a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself’’, he said.
