Osaze Odemwingie Says Its Tough Being A Free Agent: Believing For A New Club This Week


Osaze Odemwingie is currently a free agent and hopeful of getting a new team this week. The ex Stoke City player who has been released by the team at the end of last season is in high spirit of getting another club during the course of this week, BBC Sport reports.

The footballer affirmed he is in good shape while lamenting how though  it has been for him as a free agent. In his words; “It’s tough being a free agent but I’m in great shape and hopefully a move should happen this week,”

The Nigerian-Russian born athlete has not been in action for close to six months but he is still confident about fetching him a team in no time. He went on to rate himself,saying ; “Mentally and physically I feel strong, when your body and heart is perfectly prepared then you wouldn’t lack the right motivation to succeed.

 “As you grow older it becomes tougher in football, you only need someone to believe in you and willing to take a chance.

 “I still have a lot to offer a team and I only need to show what I can do somewhere for people to believe that.

Man kills himself, two others in Imo

The Imo State Police Command, in eastern Nigeria, has confirmed the death of three persons at Akokwa community in Ideato Local Government Area on Friday. DSP Andrew Enwerem, the Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the incident said others sustained injuries. He explained that an unidentified man, said to be from the northern part of Nigeria, had run amok and killed a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself. He said some aggrieved youths immediately went for reprisal attacks, leading to some other persons sustaining various degrees of injuries. Enwerem said the Commissioner of Police, on receiving reports of the the incident, deployed anti-riot policemen who stopped the incident from spreading further. “Report to police showed that a yet to be identified northerner ran amok at Akokwa community and used weapons to attack and kill a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself’’, he said.
