Justice Inyang Okoro had written a letter to the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Mahmud Mohammed narrating his ordeal and how he was approached by the Minister of transport, Rotimi Amechi to help secure appeal rulings in favour of APC.

Justice Okoro is one of the high profile judges being grilled by the operatives of the Department of state services.

Bakare slams northern elders opposing restructuring

The General Overseer of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has slammed Northern elders who are opposed to the call for Nigeria’s restructuring. Speaking on Friday in Ibadan at an event organised to mark the 50th year anniversary of the assassination of the first military governor of the defunct Western Region, Lt.-Col. Adekunle Fajuyi, he said any anti-restructuring position taken by the North would bring to the court of historical opinion the sincerity of the motives of the perpetrators of the counter coup that led to the death of Fajuyi in 1966. 17 schools connected with terrorism, Turkish Ambassador to Buhari

The Federal Government of Nigeria was on thursday alerted by  Turkish envoy to the existence of schools allegedly owned by suspected terrorists and want them shut down. Turkey said it had officially notified the Nigerian government “to the existence of 17 of such schools in Nigeria, which bear the name of Turkey” but were not owned by the European country. The country said the institutions, which ranged from schools to hospitals, were allegedly owned by the Fethullah Gulen Terrorist Organisation allegedly founded by Fethullah Gulen  The Turkish government, which stated that the country  did not own any school in Nigeria, said similar schools established in Turkey had been shut down. A document released by the Turkish embassy listed the indicted schools and institutions as Surat Educational Limited, Abuja; Nigerian-Turkish International School, in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Yobe, Ogun and Lagos; and the Nigerian-Turkish Nile University, Abuja.
