Two Drug Barons Arrested In Cross River In Possession Of Drugs Worth N2.5 Bn


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Cross River State Command has apprehended two suspected drug dealers in the state along Yahe-Ikom Trans International Highway.

The duo identified as Azuka Emmanuel, 55 and Ndubuisi Okafor, 23, were reportedly cut in possession of the hard the drugs as they underwent a routine stop-and-search excercise.

In a statement issued by the State Commander of the Agency, Anthonia Edeh, the suspects were with 76.050kg of Methamphetamine and 100.1kg of Ephedrine, worth a whooping sum of N2.5 billion.

The drugs were discovered carefully concealed in cereal packs, foodstuff packs, and industrial fillers.

''The suspects would be due to appear at the Federal High Court as soon as investigations were concluded'' She affirmed.
