Kidnap Of The Wife Of The CBN Governor; Two Soldiers Arrested In Connection

In the week that was, all media platforms was buzzing with the news of the abduction and subsequent release of the wife of the CBN governor Margaret Emefiele along Benin-Agbor Road on September 29, 2016,alongside four others including her security aide. Sequel to the swift response of the Nigerian security operatives, two Army officers allegedly involved in the kidnap has been arrested.
The suspected Army officers,identified as Musa Maidabara, a corporal and Edwin George attached to the 322 Artillery Regiment and 371 Artillery Regiment respectively in Maiduguri were nabbed with about 15 million Naira in cash among other valuables.

A source revelead that Officer Maidabara was nabbed along Benin-Asaba Road as he visited his brother, also a soldier, at 14 Field Engineer Regiment, Onitsha, Anambra State, with in whose custody he left the hefy sums and valuables and from whom they were later recovered by the operatives. In a similar development officer George was apprenended at his hometown in Otukpo, Benue state.
