Aisha Buhari’s BBC interview continues to raise dust as many people of different persuasions keep registring their differing takes on the matter.

Shiek Ismail Illyasu Mangu at Jamaatul Izalatul Bid’ah Mosque in Farm Centre, Kano, speaking to thousands of worshipers immediately after the Jumaat prayer, called on security agencies to arrest the first lady “because her interview is capable of inciting millions of Nigerians against her husband.


In his words;

“We are sad about the interview granted by the wife of the President. We believe that opposition members in the country are using her against the government. Her statement is unfair and capable of inciting violence. It is a threat to the peace of the country and we do hope the security agencies will immediately arrest her.

 “We believed that some ungrateful elements in the country are using the wife of the president to tarnish the image of the president and the country. Nigerians are not in her support. ”

Hajiya Aisha Abubakar, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, has called on the U.S. to support Nigeria to attract more investors into the country. Abubakar made the call when the officials of Nigerian- American Chamber of Commerce paid her a courtesy visit in Abuja on Friday. ``America is a world leader in terms of investment and we will need your support in assuring investors that Nigeria is open and safe for business,’’ she said. Abubakar said there has been a lot of improvement in the relationship between the two countries in the last one year.
