#RipMayowa: Ahmed Mayowa Shukura Dead


Mayowa Ahmed finally gives up the ghost. The family of sick ovarian cancer patient, Mayowa Ahmed have announced the demise of their sister who have been in the news amid controversy over the past few weeks.

A promising pretty young lady, graduated from the University of Lagos without medical cases but after graduation she seemed to have more frequent cases of hospital visits with Ulcer being the diagnosis most times.

However, Ahmed, Mayowa Shukura has been a known healthy HBSS patient from her early years.


A relative, tweeted this sad news  around 1.23 pm on Sunday afternoon stating that Mayowa passed away in the early hours of sunday.

His tweets read, “By Allah, in whose hands our lives is, Mayowa Ahmed has left us in this world. We pray that Jannat becomes her home #RipMayowa. She tried, we tried but God’s will prevailed #RipMayowa”

The late stage 1V cancer patient, supported by Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu; and Miss Aramide Kasumu of Lifestake Foundation, had spareheaded funds raising for her surgery in an Atlanta-based hospital in the United States.

A campaign which allegedly raised over N80m and a separate $100,000 for her but Aimakhu later submitted that the campaign was a fraud.

However, police investigations described the controversy as mere misunderstanding between the parties involved. The police also lifted the ban on the gofundme account where the funds had been frozen.

Reports said Mayowa was flown to South Africa for treatment on the 10th of August. Unfortunately the lady is gone.#RipMayowa

My pastor forced me to sell stolen car –Suspect

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a car-theft and robbery suspect, Olawale Olabinwonu, while attempting to sell a stolen vehicle. Olabinwonu, an administrative officer of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, was arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad while trying to sell a Nissan Sentra, 2015 model. The vehicle, whose number plate was changed, had been placed on an online shopping platform, where it was advertised for sale. Police investigators had, on seeing the advert, called the contact on the website to indicate interest. A man, who took custody of the car where it was parked in the Lekki area of the state, was said to have been arrested. The suspect, however, denied ownership of the car and subsequently led detectives to Olabinwonu’s residence. Olabinwonu was reported to have packed out of the house with his family after sensing danger. He was, however, tracked to a church in the area where he was arrested.
