Dogara, Gbajabiamila, Eight Others Pocket N10bn Slice - Jibrin


Respresentative Abdulmumin Jibrin, the former Chairman House Committee on Appropriations, has once again accused 10 principal officers of the House of scaming the Nigerian taxpayers by alloting about N10 billion as “office running cost”, which is allegedly shared among the senior lawmakers at various times since they were first elected into the House.

While listing the 10 principal officers and the funds they have allegedly received so far as running costs to include:

  1. Speaker, Yakubu Dogara,   N1.5 billion (who got lion share)
  2. Deputy Speaker, Yusuf Lasun, N800 million
  3. Majority Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, N1.2 billion
  4. Deputy Majority Leader, Buba Jibril, N1.2 billion 
  5. House Whip, Alhassan Doguwa, N1.2 billion
  6.  Minority Whip, Yakubu Barde, N700 million
  7.  Deputy Minority Whip, Binta Bello, N700 million 
  8.  Minority Whip, Chuma N700 million
  9.  Deputy House Whip, Pally Iriase, N700 million.
  10. Minority Leader, Leo Ogor, N1.2 billion


Jibrin, made this claims in a statement he issued on friday, maintaing that his latest revelation was part of his efforts to expose shady deals in the House.

The statement read in part:

“So in between these 10 Principal Officers, the country has pumped about N10 billion – and still counting. As I have mentioned earlier, in most cases with few exceptions, these funds are diverted for personal use. I will provide further break-down of these figures in due course. I will also provide 50 additional names of members with worst cases of diversion of such funds in due course,” he stated.
