Nigerian Air Force Wipes Out 300 Boko Haram members


The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar has On Monday disclosed the elimination of about 300 Boko Haram members by the Nigerian Air Force in a fierce raid in Borno State.

In his statement: “I cannot but say thank you. I am very happy to note that since  August 16 to now, you undertook extensive air operations and we were able to deal with these terrorists trying to make life difficult for our people.

“I want to say from the briefing that I received from the Air component commander that I am satisfied with what you have done.

“Of particular note is the operation you conducted on the 19th of this month, it was a night operation and we were very lucky to deal with these guys (insurgents) who had en-massed and were planning an attack . We are very happy to note that about 300 of them will not be available to commit evil again.” He said.

Nigeria's weightlifter Maryam Usman has alleged that Nigeria is not ready to win Olympic medals. In her words: ''I am proud to have represented my country Nigeria and also proud to have represented my family.'' ''Even though I may not have really done what I planned to do. I appreciate God for making me go through the competition injury-free.'' ''So, that I think is the ultimate; I really thank God. The competition was fine.
