Shocking! Ex-Kano Governor, Kwakwanso Dumps Buhari, APC For Opposition PDP

He has always been a major force in the APC. His efforts to bring in the Buhari led government were undoubtedly immense too. Recall kano state polled-in over 1 million votes to see the emergence of the current APC led government at the federal level. From all indications the centre could no longer hold and the former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to media reports, the former Presidential aspirant decamped to PDP with 10 Kano lawmakers on Tuesday.

It is on record that sometime in March, the year that was, the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, made some moves to suspend him over what it termed anti-party activities.

'Kwankwasiyya' as he is fondly dubbed by colleagues, many believe is about the most popular northern candidate after President Muhammadu Buhari, and if one takes PMB out of the race the most of northern electorates will move to support the 60-year old senator representing Kano State Central Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the National assembly.

Recall, Kwankwaso came second in 2015 APC presidential primary election. He was very popular in the last APC presidential primaries.

Kwankwaso until now remained a close ally of PMB even though he was a PDP decampee just as Atiku, Saraki and others.

Well..once again he has re-joined the PDP in a quite dramatic manner.

Man kills himself, two others in Imo

The Imo State Police Command, in eastern Nigeria, has confirmed the death of three persons at Akokwa community in Ideato Local Government Area on Friday. DSP Andrew Enwerem, the Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the incident said others sustained injuries. He explained that an unidentified man, said to be from the northern part of Nigeria, had run amok and killed a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself. He said some aggrieved youths immediately went for reprisal attacks, leading to some other persons sustaining various degrees of injuries. Enwerem said the Commissioner of Police, on receiving reports of the the incident, deployed anti-riot policemen who stopped the incident from spreading further. “Report to police showed that a yet to be identified northerner ran amok at Akokwa community and used weapons to attack and kill a girl and a woman and thereafter killed himself’’, he said.
