The National Chairman Has To Resign And He Must Resign, Whether He Likes It Or Not - Timi Frank, APC Spokesman

Timi Frank, who happens to be The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the rulling APC has expressed his fears that the party may not survive till 2019 due to the internal crisis bedeviling the party. While citing the “revolt” by state governors over recent ambassadorial appointments by President Muhammadu Buhari and the open protest by the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as front-burner issues to be addressed by the president.
Frank srongly believes Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the National Chariman of the governing party must step aside for things to augur well for the party.
Speaking recently in Abuja, the APC spokesperson said; “I’m not bothered about the campaign of calumny against me. The truth is, I’m speaking the position and minds of the majority of our party leaders, who believe that the national chairman has to resign and he must resign, whether he likes it or not.
“I’m not alone in this; at the appropriate time, more leaders will soon speak out.
“We have between now and January and February, 2017; if we don’t harmonise our differences, some of us will have no choice but to take the next step to pursue our political future.
“I am calling on our leaders to sit at a roundtable to iron out our differences now that the party still has a semblance of life. If the crisis within the party is not resolved, there will be no APC in 2019.
“If you recall, this was how we shouted when there was growing impunity and injustice in the then Peoples Democratic Party. We demanded that Bamanga Tukur (the then National Chairman) be removed.”
