Former Police IGP Arase Clear Name On The Allegations Of Stealing 19 Vehicles Belonging To The Force

Solomon Arase, the immediate past Inspector General of Police, who was recently accused of making away with 19 assorted vehicles belonging to the Police force; has dismissed the claims describing them as unfounded. The allegations also says the said vehicles as it were have been recovered from the ex-police chief.
Arase has challenged his critics to display the number plates of the said vehicles to the public while also stating the point at which each were recovered as claimed. The former IGP however maintained some people in the 'force' were out to defame him.
In a statement released by him in Abuja on Monday, Arase avowed to seek legal redress if need be. In his words: “It is embarrassing for me to wake up on Monday morning to be inundated with calls and messages on purported 19 vehicles recovered from me.
“I wish to reassure the general public that there was nothing like that. I did not take any Police vehicle with me outside of what I am entitled to; and so, there couldn’t have been any vehicle recovered from me.
“If there was any such, those behind this campaign should please make the number plates of the vehicles public and where they were recovered from. I urge those behind this campaign to face their official responsibility.”
Recall IGP Ibrahim Idris the current police boss who took over the saddle from IGP Arase, came public sometime in July with the allegations that the ex-IGP had gone away with 24 Police vehicles. Claims which Arase has debunked in its entirety .
Arase further said: “I suspect there must be a disconnect somewhere because every information needed by my successor are provided in my hand-over notes. It’s unfortunate that this matter is being made a media issue because my successor has my telephone number and could have called me for any clarification or even sent me a text message rather than addressing the media on an issue well documented in my hand-over notes,''.
