Nigeria @56: Plateau State Governor Forbids Goodwill Messages

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State,  has ordered that no goodwill message should be shared in the state during Nigeria’s 56th independence anniversary.
This he made public in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Dan Manjang on Friday.

On the authority of the statement, the ban was due to the economic recession plaguing the country. The governor also used the medium to urge political office holders to visit their constituencies and inspect ongoing government projects during the celebration.

While also calling them to also visit Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) camps.
