President Buhari Is Hale & Hearty; I Spoke With Him Over The Phone Earlier Today - Yemi Osinbajo

Amidst the entire brouhaha buzzing across all media platforms: speaking of the alleged death rumour of Nigeria's president following his failure to address the citizenery, even those in the United Kingdom calling out to him to speak to them if he was fit to continue ruling the country; His close associates maintains that he is hale and hearty.

The entire drama took another dimension yesterday, 5th February when President Muhammadu Buhari who has been away for over two weeks on a vacation to the UK, further extended his 10 day vacation indefinitely. It was gathered that Mr. president who was expected in the country today February 6th has dispatched a letter to the National Assembly informing it of his desire to extend his leave

In an interesting development, The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday revealed that only President Muhammadu Buhari would disclose his health status to Nigerians at the appropriate time.

He however maintained that unlike what is making rounds on the social media about his being forced to resign; that he was not in any way under pressure to resign. He remains in-charge as it were.

Osinbajo spoke with State House correspondents shortly after meeting behind closed doors with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

He also seized the moment to assure Nigerians that Mr. President is hale and hearty, while also pointing out that he spoke with his boss earlier in the day to keep him abreast of developments regarding the 2017 Budget and the protests embarked upon by some Nigerians.

Hajiya Aisha Abubakar, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, has called on the U.S. to support Nigeria to attract more investors into the country. Abubakar made the call when the officials of Nigerian- American Chamber of Commerce paid her a courtesy visit in Abuja on Friday. ``America is a world leader in terms of investment and we will need your support in assuring investors that Nigeria is open and safe for business,’’ she said. Abubakar said there has been a lot of improvement in the relationship between the two countries in the last one year.
