Governor Wike Never Bribed Any INEC Official With N111 Million As Alleged - Nwakaudu

An earlier report filed in today by an investigative panel which was constituted by the Inspector-General of Police; had it that a colossal sum of N111.3 million was recovered from 23 electoral officials alleged to have been bribed by Rivers state government led by Governor Nyesom Wike to rig the December 10,2016 legislative re-run elections in the state. In a recent development, Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers Governor on Electronic Media, said the claims were not true rather was politically motivated by the Nay-sayers of the administration in the state.

On the authority of a press statement issued today in Port Harcourt, Nwakaudu stressed that the allegation was fashioned to divert attention from the real issues surrounding the re-run polls.

In his words:

“The statement (by the police) is patently false, politically motivated and cooked by the police to justify the violence they visited in the people of Rivers state during the re-run” .

Th media aide affimed that the Rivers' Governor never spent the said N360 million to compromise the re-run polls as claimed by the police.

“ For the  avoidance of doubt, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike did not spend N360 million to rig the  re-run legislative elections of December 10, 2016.

“The people of Rivers State overwhelmingly voted the PDP  across the state because of the outstanding performance of Governor Wike  since May 29, 2015
, he said.
