FIRS RECRUITMENT 2016: Over 2000 First Class Graduates Among 700,000 Who Applied For 500 Available Vacancies



Babatunde Fowler, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenure Service, on Wednesday appeared before the House of Representatives committee on Public Petition following a petition by some of the applicants who claimed they were excluded from the process.
Fowler revealed that 700,000 applicants applied for the 500 available vacancies in the on-going recruitment into the service whilst pointing out that over 2000 of the applicants were First Class degree holders in various disciplines.

The FIRS Boss however maintained that the fairness and due process would play out in the entire recruitment process.

In his words: “We have secured waiver and endorsement from the Federal Character Commission in order to ensure that the right thing is done.’’

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) however affirm that it received about 700,000 applications for the 500 jobs it advertised.
