[UPDATED] Angelina Jolie Quits Major Hollywood Movie In A Bid To Avoid Working With ex Brad Pitt',
This is serious! A movie she has spent so much time and resources on...Angelina Jolie is said to have spent years trying to get the film off the ground.
The actress-director has reportedly quit this Hollywood blockbuster movie in other to avoid working with her ex Brad Pitt .
The Hollywood couple, who have worked on two major films together including Mr & Mrs Smith as well as By The Sea, reportedly spent several years on trying to get Africa into production.
With $110 million for the biopic, which is about archaeologist Dr. Richard Leakey, who championed the end of elephant poaching.
Clearly Angelina doesn't want to be a part of the project anymore as she has stepped down from her directing duties.
Be that as it may, a source had revealed that Pitt was keen to pursue the movie.
“This movie has been a nightmare to get off the ground from the beginning. Until the last few weeks Angelina was resolute in her intent to get it made but now she doesn’t want to direct it at all,”
“Brad Pitt was still interested in acting in the movie — for him it was Seven Years in Tibet set in Africa and he wasn’t ready to give up on it. But Angelina now doesn’t want to have any kind of relationship with him, personal or professional.” the source added.
Reports has it that the couple, who had been together for 12 years, were set to begin work on the film next year with Brad starring in the movie

As stories emerged about the couple's split, Brad has reportedly been crying after being left flattened by Angelina's sudden resolve to divorce him.
There are claims that Angelina had quit the project on grounds that Brad is desperate to see his six children as he reportedly pleaded with his estranged wife to allow him see his kids; “Please just let me see my kids” he begged.
The actress, who is said to be staying at a top secret location with the family, is has hithertho said shielded Mr Pitt from visiting their six children allegedly until the FBI investigation has been completed.
Brad allegedly had an altercation with 15-year-old son Maddox on a private jet last Wednesday.
There are strong indications that the 52-year-old actor will jostle ex-wife for joint physical custody of their six children - was shocked by his wife's decision to end their relationship of more than a decade.
"He is beside himself and has been crying. He was completely caught off guard and blindsided and had no idea she would do this," a source told Us Weekly.
"Angelina filed the court papers a minute before the courts closed on Monday night. He didn’t have a lawyer or anything. She had threatened divorce in the past but he did not think she would file this time.”
The actor is accused of being "wasted" and "screaming" while in the air with his partner and their children.
It was also that claimed Brad began arguing with his wife on the flight from Europe to LA, and when their 15-year-old Maddox jumped up to defend her, he allegedly "lunged" at his son. A case still under probe by the FBI.
Sources close to the World War Z star disclosed: "He [Brad] is a very caring and attentive father and it's sad that people are continuing these smears, which only hurt the children and the entire family."
On the flip side, another source said: "Angelina as a mother can be very protective. It was a typical disagreement between parents and kids. Things got heated but they were never in physical danger.
"They both love the kids more than anything else in the world. Maddox and Pax are very protective of their mother and they are both growing up and developing their own personalities.
Brad was spotted angrily leaving the family jet after a heated fight with Ex-wife and 13 year-old son aboard .
