Parents call for the swapping of Chibok girls for Boko Haram detainees

The April 14 2014 photo Latest Photo as was screen-grabbed from  the video released on  sunday by the sect The parents of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls in coalition with the BringBackOurGirls group on Sunday requested that the Federal Government exchange detained Boko Haram members for the girls who were held hostage by the sect for over two years. This was as a follow up to the video of the girls as was released by the sect on Sunday. Boko Haram captured more than 200 of the 276 final-year girls it abducted from Government Secondary School, Chibok, in Borno State, in April 2014. Some of them escaped, but 215 girls remain missing. In May 2016, one of them, Amina Ali, was rescued. Jean Ping Declares Himself President Of Garbon

Gabon opposition leader Jean Ping on Friday declared himself the rightful president while demanding for a vote recount,48 hours after incumbent Ali Bongo was announced the winner of a weekend and election was returened re-elected throwing the central african nation into crisis. “I am the president, ” Ping told a press conference at his home in Libreville late Friday, calling for a recount from every polling station. Since the anouncement of the elections results of the  Saturday election huge crowds of irate supporters, some of whom torched the parliament, have taken to the streets. However, Bongo’s government launched a fierce crackdown, with security forces arresting around a thousand people. Two people died early Friday following overnight clashes, bringing to five the number killed in the violence that erupted after Bongo was declared victor of the disputed election on Saturday. Mr Garba Shehu,the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, on Sunday stated that President Muhammadu Buhari would be one of Nigeria’s best presidents even as he described the last couple of weeks as tough on the commander-in-chief as he encountered the graviest public criticism since he assumed office on May 29, 2015. Shehu said much of the criticism which he sees as unfair on the FG had been on account of the unresolved social and economic problems facing the country. FG pleads with ex-militants over unpaid allowances

The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh (Rtd) has once more, pleaded with the ex-militants under the amnesty programme in the Niger Delta region not to lose faith in the Federal Government and the CBN after many promises which proved abortive. The ex-agitators had suspended protest over the non-payment of their allowances few weeks back when Boroh made some promises that the money would be made available to them just in a couple of days. Be that as it may, the allowances were never paid and there are strong indications that the ex-agitators might stage a violent protest in the Niger Delta region over this lingering issue of non-payment of their allowances as promised.
