Okorocha Dismiss Claims That His First Son Is Dead

The week that was, saw rumours streaming back-and-forth concerning the reported death of  the first son of Imo State Governor.

From his end, Governor Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha recently came public to trash these rumours circulating on social media that his son Afamefula, has died in a London hospital.

According to a statement from the Douglas house, Owerri, Ahamefula Okorocha is not dead.

The statement read:

The attention of the government and good people of Imo State has been drawn to the false publication on the Social Media, talking about the death in London of Engineer Ahamefula Okorocha, first son of the State Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

The fact and indeed, the real story is that, Contrary to the rumour from the Kingdom of darkness, the Young man is hale and hearty and the wish of the wicked ones would never, never prevail over him.

Those who authored the fake death story only showed the level of their frustration and we won’t ask God to help them out or forgive them. They must reap whatever they have sown. The bible says, “tell the wicked it shall not be well with them”. And we do so to those behind this disturbing rumour.

You can begin to ask why human beings created in the image of God would ever wish a promising Young man like Aham death, no matter what could be their reason.

It should also be recalled that sometime last year, when the governor travelled, these evil-minded elements also rumoured his death and that was also when the issue of Ekeukwu Market came up. And this time too, two weeks after the relocation of Ekeukwu Market, they have come up with the same death story and this time, the governor’s first son.

What these disciples of anti-Christ do not know is that God owns and holds life. And that is why the Igbos would name their Children “Chinwendu” (God owns life) and “Chijindu” (God holds life).

The general public should please disregard the death rumour. It is not true.

Okorocha landed his latest critisms and vituperations after he ordered the demolition of the ancient Eke Ukwu market in Owerri.

Albeit, in the course of the demolition excersice, a young boy was reportedly hit and killed by a stray bullet. The innocent boy was said to have gone into the market to help his mother move her wares after the government began the demolition.

While the traders and occupants of the market protested wildly against the move, the demolition still took place. A huge number of soldiers were said to have been deployed to the market area ahead of the demolition.

The indigenes of Owerri had fought hard on the move stating that the market is a part of their traditional heritage and should not be touched. They said the market could be upgraded with modern facilities instead of being demolished.

Governor Rochas Okorocha had launched the motion for the market to be moved to another location stating that the activities of the traders around the market often cause traffic problems. He was said to have cited the activities on Douglas road as one of the main reasons the market should be moved.
