Meet The DBB Entertainer Of The Week,Richard Mofe Damijo


Richard Mofe Damijo, born 6 July 1961,popularly known as RMD, is a Nigerian vetern actor and politician who won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in the year 2005. He is also a one-time Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in his home state, Delta State.
 

RMD was born in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. He had his secondary education at Midwest College, Warri and Anglican Grammar School. While in secondary school, Richard was a member of the Drama Club. After his secondary education, he got admission into the University of Benin, where he studied Theater Arts. He later studied law at the University of Lagos and graduated in the year 2004. Richard Mofe Damijo began his Career with Concord Newspapers and Metro Magazine as a reporter. 

His Acting Career, however began in a television soap opera called Ripples in the late 1980’s. He later authored and produced the movie “Out of Bounds”. In the maiden edition of the African Movie Academy Awards, held in the year 2005 and he won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. 

RMD was married to one of the foremost Nigerian Journalists, late May Ellen Ezekiel, who was popularly known as MEE and they had one child. She died in the year 1996. Richard however got married again. He has a total of five children; four from his current marriage. 

Richard Mofe Damijo was the commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State, Nigeria.

Richard Mofe Damijo has made an epic reply to an 29-year-old female die-hard fan of his who has over 3,000 photos of him and vowed to have been single for four years and has been drinking anointing oil because she has been waiting for the married actor.

“So that’s how you’ll be in your lane minding your business and someone would be making hot yellow eba and efo riro for you abi? but on a more serious and personal note, this is not me trying to ridicule the writer but humour is a great defence mechanism for me so Dear writer, I totally understand how easy it is for you and a couple of others to think you’re “in love” with me and/or other celebrities but what you actually love is the idea of RMD not RMD.
All of you that want to be with me won’t last a week because I am not the perfect husband or father you may think I am.
I forget little details, fart in bed with my wife, get impatient with my kids, have mood swings, squeeze the toothpaste tube from the middle, leave wet towels on the bed, yea you may think I’m cool and perfect but Mrs Adejumobi Mofe-Damijo my ONLY wife disagrees and you know what? My pastor forced me to sell stolen car –Suspect

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a car-theft and robbery suspect, Olawale Olabinwonu, while attempting to sell a stolen vehicle. Olabinwonu, an administrative officer of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, was arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad while trying to sell a Nissan Sentra, 2015 model. The vehicle, whose number plate was changed, had been placed on an online shopping platform, where it was advertised for sale. Police investigators had, on seeing the advert, called the contact on the website to indicate interest. A man, who took custody of the car where it was parked in the Lekki area of the state, was said to have been arrested. The suspect, however, denied ownership of the car and subsequently led detectives to Olabinwonu’s residence. Olabinwonu was reported to have packed out of the house with his family after sensing danger. He was, however, tracked to a church in the area where he was arrested.
