[BREAKING] Wike Sends Protocol Aide Packing

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has fired his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Sir Joe Akpa.

On the authority of a statement released in Port Harcourt on Friday by the Special Assistant to the governor on Electronic Media Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, the governor also wished Akpa well in all his future endeavours.


The reason for his sack is yet to be verified.

My Mission in Kogi is Divine -Bello

The youngest state Governor in Nigeria and Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who just clocked 40 years in June had Friday declared that he was on “a divine mission” to curb corruption, waste and mismanagement of resources. Speaking with the media shortly after joining President Muhammadu Buhari to offer Jumat prayers inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Bello reacted to a recent verdict of the Court of Appeal which upheld his election. “They (people of the state) should expect development, prosperity and good governance all the way,” he said. The governor described the court judgement as a confirmation of “divine ruling” by God. He extended the olive branch to his opponents, especially a member of the House of Representatives, Mr. James Faleke, to join him in the task of building the state which he said was in a big mess when he assumed duties.
